![]() ![]() After they tried to blame HotWire first, which has nothing to do with the insurance option, they said they'd give me a full refund of the insurance but did not follow through, only giving me 25% back of what was paid for insurance. The customer service line wasn't much help either. This would have charged me double what I had already paid. When I respectfully and calmly drove back to the rental location, the agent was rude and said he would have to return the vehicle and re-rent it. Within the hour I spoke to a friend who told me I was lied to regarding insurance, which I also confirmed through my personal insurance company. Could not give me a straight answer to what they were for. The agent was not very helpful with questions I had regarding the extra fees. My cost ended up being double what I originally thought when booking through Hotwire. It being my first time renting a car and feeling overwhelmed with the paperwork, I took their word for it, although I declined other options they tried to add to my reservation including pushing me to upgrade to a larger vehicle. I came in to pick up my rental and was told by the agent that their insurance was required and that my personal insurance could not be used. I will certainly do so, if I'm scammed on my bill. In my opinion, they should be reported to BBB and other regulatory bodies. Reading the other reviews ( which I wish I had read before using this company) it seems like this company has a habit of overcharging and charging for services added without customer service. My advice: pay a bit extra and DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, take your business elsewhere.Īlso, I have not received my final bill yet. But this is simply unacceptable behavior. I did actually go ahead and insisted that the manager ask her to apologize to me. When I said I would complain to her manager, she said " boohoo! Go ahead". ![]() ![]() She called me names and told me to "shut up". The staff was shockingly rude, obnoxious, condescending, unprofessional and downright inappropriate. Talking to other customers and reading other reviews, this is a very frequent occurrence at this location at least. And it wasn't just me, but everyone else too. I rented a car from them at their Maui airport ( OGG) location and it's the longest I've ever had to wait to get a rental car- 2 hours. ![]()
